HISTORY

Liman Resrtaurant was built in 1947 at the end of a competition arranged by Ministery of Economics and İstanbul Harbour Administration, which has 21 native and foreign competitors,

Between 1947 and 1953 restaurant was managed by Mr. Şebinkarahisarlı Hüseyin.

After 1953, administration of the restaurant was givent to Maritime Bank, and Silvian Fontana, who is the chief of M. Kemal Atatürk, was brought to manager position. From 1953 to 1968 Silvian Fontana managed the Liman Restaurant and western service style was first brought to Turkey by Silvian Fontana.

Artist İbrahim Çallı, author Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and many other artists have drank their rakı and inspired by the fabulous panaromic view of bosphorous.

Liman Restaurant was the most prefered place for İstanbul’s famous families, to make their weddings, engagements and invititations.

From 1997 ÇAPA Group took the management of the Liman Restaurant and renewed the interior design. ÇAPA Group is still managing and increasing the quaility for the costumer’s expectations.


 

DIRECTIONS
Liman Restaurant is 5 mins far away from Taksim Square. If you are coming from Beşiktaş, Taksim directions, Liman Restaurant is on the left side of the Karaköy Square. From Eminönü directions, after the Galata Bridge, Liman Restaurant is on the right side, across the Karaköy multifloor carpark and above the Karaköy Harbour Passenger Hall.
